Opened April 19, 2005 by current owners Tim and Chong McCarthy, the Deception Pass Visitor Center is a natural companion to the Deception Pass State Park both in proximity and theme.



The McCarthys are long time residents of Oak Harbor and seek to make the Deception Pass Visitor Center a resource for visitors and local community alike.



Our goals as a privately owned facility are:

Provide tourists or visitors with information and resources to help them make the best of their stay in the Deception Pass area and to make their first impression of Whidbey Island a very positive and pleasant experience.

Provide a venue and resource to enable and encourage the artistic community of Oak Harbor and the surrounding area.

Offer unique, high quality gift and souvenir items for all of our customers.
